Our bread-making tools
- Sourdough Starter Jar Set: a 40 oz wide-mouth glass jar with a feeding band, a stick-on thermometer strip, a silicone lid and base, a cloth cover and a silicone spatula.
- Cotton Bread Baskets: a set of two bannetons (round 9.2", oval 10 x 6.4", or one of each) for 500 g to 1 kg doughs. They double as serving baskets.
From starter to loaf
Feed your starter equal weights of flour and water once or twice a day at room temperature. Use the feeding band to mark its level: it is ready to bake with when it doubles within a few hours of feeding. Shape your dough, proof it seam-side up in a floured basket, then bake on a stone or in a loaf pan.
